Junior Alpbach

Every year the village of Alpbach (Tyrol) hosts an international conference on the latest developments in technology. Within this conference Junior Alpbach offers young persons the chance to participate in plenary sessions and workshops, learning about complex technologies and their influence on our lives.

  • Graduates of Austrian school contests and school olympics at the age of 15 to 19.
  • Recommended students from Austrian senior high schools with a main focus on science (two persons per year)
  • Children of the Forum Alpbach participants.
  • Young persons from the village of Alpbach

The OEZBF selects and invites graduates of school olympics in the fields of physics, chemistry, mathematics, information technology, and philosophy, as well as participants in school contests who are between 15 and 19 years of age, and have had excellent or very good exam results. Another important criterion for being selected is a real interest in the conference.

The OEZBF informs the students about the programme and represents the link between the organisers and the Ministry of Education.

At the end of the conference the participants as well as the OEZBF give written feedback in order to help optimise the organisation.

In 2008 Junior Alpbach celebrated its tenth anniversary. For this occasion the OEZBF published an anniversary magazine, which can be downloaded here.
