The Austrian Research and Support Centre for the Gifted and Talented is the national institution for the further development of gifted education and the promotion of excellence in Austria. It supports persons, institutions and initiatives promoting young people’s talents. It was established in 1999 and is financed by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education and Women’s Affairs, and the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy.
In gifted education and in promoting excellence the OEZBF advocates a holistic and systemic approach including all educational institutions - kindergarten, school, college and university, as well as the family, economy and working world and the communities.
Only in this way may the continuous development of a young person's talents be guaranteed.

Furthermore, it is a special concern of ours to establish a positive approach towards gifted education and to promote excellence by providing information and creating an awareness for a talent-friendly environment.
